I keep seeing these bugs in my house (UK). Ever since the really heavy down pour, I see these 6 legged bugs (really long legs) and a pair of wings! They fly around pretty slowly (compared to a fly) and are easy to kill. They keep tapping against the windows and fly to the ceiling and other lights in the room. What are they ?? They are much bigger than a mosquito and have a small body (Ive seen different sizes) and really long legs (6). Any idea what they are ? I looked on the internet and didnt find any pics that matched them.

They are not daddy long legs, you crazy person! Spiders don't have wings or 6 legs! What these sound like are male mosquitos. Females are the ones that bite. We get them when it rains too (we don't let them in the house). It is true that they are harmless.

They are crane flies, Tipulidae oleracea, a common name is 'daddy long legs' do not confuse with the 'daddy long legs spider' which has no wings.

If there is not any spider interior the internet and far of airborne dirt and dust staggering on it, there's a strong probability it really is an abandoned internet - the spider that lived there probable died, or change into eaten through something else. Vacuum it up, and sleep soundly.
