I was put into foster care on Febuary 10th and taken out April the19th.

I am 14.

I was put in foster care from sexual abuse.

I am a honor roll student and in the International Baccurlarate program,a program for highly gifted students.

IF YOU NEED ANY MORE DETAILS YOU WILL HAVE TO EMAIL
ME !!!!!!

My question is, with the information given, are there any programs that can help me .We don't have alot of money;let me rephrase that, we haven't hardly any money, since, the person who was working is now out of the house. My mom either just got, or is getting off dissability,I forget (lol) . I really would like to know ;what things or programs are there to help foster children ,or post foster kids succed in life?

Was I not in the system long enough to get help?

"It's amazing how I only went in foster care for only 2 months and a half, and my life is ruined"

Or Is It ???

I grew up in a physically abusive home and the oldest of 4 sisters. We never called CPS because my mom told us we would be separated. My sisters were sexually molested by a family member during this time. My youngest sister was the toughest of all and called CPS and was placed in foster care too. She spent most of her youth in Foster facilities, not homes, due to family violence issues. I worked at a foster home in Texas for girls in your situation except their parent literally lost the rights to their kids because of the harm they put on their children or enabled. The girls were now "state kids". The girls that used their "new parents" (the state) to their advantage literally had their college paid for ....I mean PAID FOR!!!!

How is it that you were allowed back home? Who was your abuser? Is the situation safe now? You do have a case worker right??

God Bless your heart! Please know that you have an amazing calling on your life. You are going to do AWESOME things. Look how smart and gifted you are! Keep your head in those books, work hard, your life is not over. My sister that grew up in foster care....is in med school now!

Unfortunately, foster care has a great difficulty in attracting the right type of foster parents and physical, mental and sexual abuse appears to be common place in foster care homes. If you are having mental health and/or emotional issues your area by law has a MHMR Office, ie Mental Health Mental Retardation office. That office is the gateway for services funded for people with mental health issues. You would need to call them and ask to have a caseworker assigned to coordinate and help you get the services you need (again, if you have mental health issues). If you have issues of disability, then contact the social security office for a caseworker. Unfortunately, my understanding is that the government does not have programs to help people succeed in life, only to prevent them from being at the very bottom. And those programs are poorly funded and short staffed. You may wish to approach a privately funded agency such as Catholic Charities, Luthern Social Services, or your local Jewish Family Services and ask if they could assign a caseworker to help you find and attain proper services. If necessary try showing up at the privately funded agency as they likely be too embarrased to turn a 14 year-old in need away from their door.

Sorry, not buying it.

Your life is not ruined because of foster care, but you have had a bad life due to the choices your parents made.

Just because you were in foster care doesn't give you some magical right to get help that millions of other kids might need.

Your parents or parent need some serious parenting skills, but you need counseling for the abuse.

Set up an appointment with the school guidance counselor, ask for help and express all of your concerns. Also call the local Boys and Girls club see if they can help you .And for God's sake at 14 why are you letting strangers have your e-mail address, that's a big no-no!Stay safe. You have the will to succeed so you will succeed.Good Luck!Don't talk to strangers!On-line or off-line.

why would you need help from the foster care system? if you are in a gifted baccalaureate program you should be able to get into college on an academic scholarship

No your life is not ruined. But, living under abuse makes you
vunerable.
I'm sad to hear your mom is getting off disability. Plus living with an abuser causes many issues she must face. I strongly suggest
she attend Alanon meetings for her sanity.
Otherwise, do you go to church? It would be good for you to see
a pastor at a local church. He/She will have a plethoria of opportunities.

God Bless

the first thing that I would do if I were youi is to pray onto my heavenly father. The second thing that I would do is to call th missoinaries from the church of jues crist of latter day saints and get a spiritual blessing. The church has all kinds of programs for the youth to be in.

Lots of luck to you.
