Hi all, I need help because I am at a crossroad here. I have a boyfriend that I have been in an intimate relationship over 2 years.
I think I found my husband, no I know I found him. But we are having problems in the friend department. I have some friends that I have been cool with for a yearor so....my co-workers.
I am glad were are friends because I really didnt have too many.
We hang alot and have fun. But my boyfriend is from my hometown but he works out of state but not too far because we can drive back and forth to see each other, which we have. But he doesnt like the fact that my friends are single and they go out alot he thinks they dont respect our relationship, he doesnt mind us goin out but he doesnt like that we go bar-hopping, he says we should do something else. Because of his work I see him 2 or 3 times a month. I dont like how he wants all of my attention when he comes home even if I want to do something with my friends.

He thinks that my girls should understand that I am in a relationship and that I shouldnt do certain things that they do because they are single. I agree but I like my friends and he seems a bit controlling or are his request just things I should be abiding by? To sum it up he feels he should be put first before my friends because we are in a serious relationship.
What should I do?

Wow.. you are in a serious relationship. one in which you believe you have found your husband - the love of your life - the person that completes you. And you put your friends before him?

Girl... you need to get out of this relationship. And not get into one for a long time. why?
because he is right. 1000% right. You should not be going out with single girls doing single girl things unless you are still single!! (which by your own admission you are not). Why? because "girls night out" is just an excuse for women (yes.. I've done this and seen it done as well) to get wild and not take responsibility for what happens (which most the time involves alcohol and later.. waking up with someone you don't know).

He should be concerned.

Sorry... you can still have the friends but the going out on the town and everything needs to stop. Or you need to get out of the relationship.

You only see him 3 times a month. Asking for your attention then is not asking too much. He doesnt like the bar-hopping because hes relating that to "looking for guys". Maybe there is some compromise that you can come up with to make you both happy.

Hm, well in my opinion...before I met my fiance I was going out and hanging out w/my friends like it was nobody's business. In my previous relationship I had put my friends first (and I was w/the guy for nearly 2 years). So,I was a social butterfly. As soon as I met my current guy, I had no desires to hangout w/my friends like before. I was soley dedicated to him. Not to say I don't see my friends, but they're no longer my top priority. I'm focused on my career and my man because I want to build a future w/him...so I think you should go over how you really feel about ur guy. Good luck!
