Matt.you've posted this 3 times. How old are you?
How much are you drinking?
You can't try to be something great and have no motivation at the same time. They don't mix.
Maybe your current state of mind and your behaviour....like drinking a lot........is making it that you have no true friends..........maybe you are pushing them away in your quest to be something great.
If you could let all your friends on yahoo know how old you are and where you're at.........there are many kind people on here who would give you some friendly advice. You must beware the nasties though....XXX

First… drug use as with your alcohol starts out as a respite from the stress of life, but can quickly or slowly turn into a full blown addiction. However, drug addiction is always a path to enlightenment.
I bet two quarters that you have some self-esteem issues along with some emotional/social issues. Check with your college, online search, self-help book stores, etc for help with these issues. Until you take the long, but maybe not too long and hard road of learning to have a healthy relationship with yourself, it will be tough to work well in a social setting.
Good luck,
RICHARD

Dear Matt,
success, I think, begins with a positive attitude and a belief in yourself. If you wait for your feeling of success to come from other people, it may never come. I have learned to not compare myself to others. I have also learned to listen to my heart and to know what is important to me...which may not match anything anyone else thinks is important for me.
You need to define success for yourself. I am reading a very good book I would suggest you read. It is called, "Life's Greatest Lessons" by Hal Urban. In this book, there is a quote that defines success this way: Success means doing the best we can with what we have. Success is in the doing, not the getting-in the trying, not the triumph.
In this same book on page 5, the question, "What does it mean to be successful?" is asked, and answered. "Successful people have a sense of direction and purpose-they know where they're going. They set goals, accomplish them, and then set new goals. They accept and enjoy challenges."
Get your head on straight...set your own goals, read the book.
You can do it. You are responsible for your own life. Go and get it!

if you believe alcohol is becoming a problem try AA. they will give support with not drinking and try to give you motivation to improve yourself. i think this program is free?? worth looking into??
counseling can help too. you would have to pay for this one.
why don't you have friends?? is it the drinking?? or are you drinking to try and make friends?? what kind of friends are you looking for?? just be yourself.
good luck.

try ignoring them, liberals often beat down each other because they don't think anyone can truly make a difference in life without the help of the government.
