There ARE rich people who think they can tread all over people because they have money. There ARE people of other races who play the race card every time they get into trouble. There ARE really ugly people and wierd people and scary people who may or may not be axe muderers. Why can't we voice these opinions anymore? We all think it. We are gagged these days by PC hell. Who agrees?

Yes, there are dregs who sponge off the rest of us.
Yes, there are rich people who disregard the feelings of others.
Yes, there are some who use race to their advantage.
Yes, there are ugly people (but I'm no oil painting myself - ignore the avatar)
Yes, there are weird people (most of them are harmless, though)
Yes there are scary people (very few of them are axe murderers, though).

See? We've both just expressed these opinions, neither of us gagged by PC hell.

But am I being PC if I say I don't want to hear racist nonsense, and rants based on hatred and prejudice, not fact. I don't think so.

I think political correctness is a pile of poo. I just don't think that showing respect for people with the language I choose and the words I use to describe them is being politically correct. I don't think that having an opinion based on fact, not prejudice, is political correctness.

I think there have been a large number of people who have managed to gain kudos and credibility by championing causes of their own making.
This has mainly come about following the rise in sociology in education. When I was young, loads of people took sociology as a 'soft' subject in university. I think we are reaping the benefit of all these graduates making work for themselves now.

Work in the area of your own concerns... you don't appear to be gagged and have had a good education - riches indeed. Count your blessings.
