I think we need a fair and balanced approach to immigration. We should have open borders between the U.S., Canada and Mexico. By that I mean completely free movement, residency, investment, employment, everything. No one should be required to relinquish their citizenship in one inorder to live in another indefinitely. The problem right now is Mexico is more closed to our people than America is to Mexicans, legal or otherwise.
What we really need to clamp down on is getting rid of aliens who by their religion, politics, or criminality are anti-american. Why do we let 350,000 arab muslims live in and around Dearborn, Mich. when every damn one of them would like nothing better than force the rest of us to convert to their twisted faith? Or, kill us. What was it bin Laden said? Moslems would rather be dead than live in a world of unbelievers? That pretty much cinches the enmity between muslims and the rest of humanity, doesn't it. (I hope the Pope doesn't apologize for anything he said. What he quoted was true hundreds of years ago just as it is true today.).
If we lose the war in Iraq are we going to be flooded with millions of Iraqi immigrants? Now there is a real scary thought.

Are you talking about imigration or illegal activities associated with illegal entry. I would not call someone who left his family behind and is sending money back to Mexico for investment in property and/or businesses there an imigrant. A big chunk of Mexico's economy is dependent on all that money being sent back to relatives in Mexico. If the money was cut off, the talking heads say that the Mexican economy would collapse, and Mexico might have a revolution. I do not support illegal activities, and I do not support invasion.

Yes, they should let in more imigrants. Because America developed because of imigrants only.

Can't. Just can't. You see, America *is* a country made of immigrants. My grandfather was one, along with my late husband's grandmother.
There's a reason we're called the World's Melting Pot. If we prohibited such, we'd lose our backbone, our integrity and our respect as a nation. We're made up of immigrants and because of that very fact, how can you possibly cut it off without affecting our literal and figurative "bloodline(s)"?
Like you, I'm fed up with illegal immigrants, but can't see cutting off our nose to spite our face. It just doesn't make sense since we're one of the few countries in the free world who can honestly say that we were built on the beliefs of our ancestral immigrants.
Cutting off the immigrants can't be done; it just can't. With further research and effort, we, as a nation, will be able to control the influx of illegals better, but until then, more laws and rules pertaining to such, will have to be implemented in order to placate certain legal citizens.
I have a question for you. If you were to find out that you had an illegal immigrant living right in your neighborhood, would you harass him in person very much the same way people seem to be doing on here and through the press? Would you be willing to kill an illegal immigrant because of his status? To both of my questions, I would hope not.
And that's exactly why we should urge our government to deal with this problem as quickly as possible before it escalates out of control.

america should let immigrants in with condition that they will populate the semi urban places instead of flocking in the big cities where it is already overcrowded. With overcrowding, it results in increased crime and unemployment. Professional, hardworking immigrants are an asset to this country.

climate it rather is US or the different united states of america.. there could be some standards by which you may enter. the way, low high quality immigration dilutes the prevalent of united states of america, better high quality immigration has actual made it available for US to realize the area what it is immediately. what's greater.. in case you look on the different fringe of the story , American / jap businesses are recent in all areas of the international and the comparable question could be asked for their very presence in the different united states of america and going by using your rule, the international could replace right into a pond.. ....... in trouble-free terms a static stinking decision of persons in communities.

Certainly not let more in. This is a huge problem our country is facing and no one wants to address it, Republicans and Democrats alike. Its not only about illegal immigration its about immigration in general. I'm glad you asked this question, I'd love to see the answers. LOL

I say stop immigration. What i mean is don't completely stop it but try to prevent more illegal immigrans into our country. If we stop illegal immigration our population problem will probably stop in its tracks.

-That's a tough one...One one hand we can't seem to support the people who are here, now..
But this country has been a refuge for foreign refugees for so long.
I guess it depends on whether they will contribute to our society and economy...pay taxes and do it legally.
