1 Italy WC Champion
2 The match fixing Scandal (although it was finishing in 1982 and it strated before the WC in 2006)
3 The favorite team was Brazil (called the dream team as it was this WC full of stars)
4 Only European countries went to the Semifinals (Italy, West Germany, France and Poland in 1982, three of them were in the Semifinals of 2006 as well and the forth was a surprise and started with P just like Portugal
5 Brazil finished his way to the Quarter finals
6 Italy played against Germany(although not in the final as in 1982)
7 The semfinal Italy v Poland finished 2-0 just like Italy v Germany this year
8 The host country was European (Spain in 1982)
9 FIFA fair play trophy was won by Brazil
10 Argentina finished his way to the Quarter finals as well as England
11 Teams from all six confederations took part in this WC
12 I've seen images of Tardelli's goal agains Germany and it's the same scream and joy as Grosso's goal against Germany as well

Well, '06 sucked and '82 rocked so not that.
There was a scandal surrounding each side. Rossi had his betting suspension lifted a month before in '82 and, of course, the recent ref bribing in Italian Serie A.
Both sides beat Germany along the way.
Both sides played an African nation?
Both won on European soil.
Their opponents had players playing in the Italian League???
They had fewer metrosexuals than Land of Eng.

Italy Won both World Cup.
The World Cups were both in July.
The Finals were both between Italy and France.
Italy has beaten Germany.
And then I don't know. It's all that came to mind!!!

2) France was in the top 4

4)Czech republic came 3rd in their group stage
5)England finished 1st in their group stage
6) France finished 2nd in their group stage
7)Brazil finished 1st in their group stages
8)Brazil won fair play award
9)teams from all 6 qaulifying zones qaulified
10)Germany lost their final match of the tornament on July 8th

Italy won both , They played in the world cup with problems too and Noone predicted that they will win it cuz they started weak.
Thats all I know.

germany did not lose the final match of this world cup. they won against portugal on july 8th
