Yes. Why haven't we been back? Because the original project was about national prestige. We won. We explored. There was no political will to go back. There still isn't.
You may believe that NASA could have fooled the general public. But, do you really think that we could have fooled the Soviet Space Agency and the Soviet military intelligence types? I don't. If the moon landings, all six of them, had been faked, the Soviets would have fixed their N-1 booster and landed on the moon just to show everyone what liars we were. Why did they give up, instead? Because we were there.

Okay, sit down, because you probably are not going to believe this. After the Apollo crew landed on the moon and took off, they orbited the moon to put them on the right course for Earth. So far so good. Glitch. While in orbit around the moon, on the dark side, they witnessed a UFO colony/camp, and were communicated to, to NOT return to the moon. Guess what? We haven't even made an effort to get back there. Why? Go to Art Bell's wonderful page and look up all that stuff. Anyway, that is the cult, the legend, the very logical story. See I told you that you would not believe it. You can get up now.

Of course we did. But there has been no compelling reason to go back -- the scientists are still picking over the rock samples that were brought back decades ago. There is talk of setting up a moon base, which could be useful for astronomical observations and also launching spacecraft to use the earth's gravity as a slingshot, but the project would be horribly expensive and it is by no means obvious that the results would justify the cost.

Actually, we went back several times. It's just that there wasn't enough information to gather to justify another mission (also, another goal was to show up the Soviets, so once we beat them there why do it again?).
We have gained more technological advances from the space program, but since then we haven't put as much emphasis on it so the rate of progress has been slower.
And, yes, we did land on the moon....

Because there is nothing there to go back for.
Launching the space shuttle costs about a billion dollars. Not to mention the unnecessary danger to the astronaunts for going to land on a big rock again to prove nothing other than americans are stupid conspiracy lovers.
Also, the space shuttle cannot land on the moon, so they would have to build a new rocket, which would cost several billion dollars.

Why don't you go read the history. How can you have an opinion just based on hearsay - that makes you a prize fool.
If you knew the history you would see how American politics killed the Apollo missions.
For God's sake do some research and stop regurgitating nonsense that some equal fool has told you, when you understand nothing of the history of America in space.

Old Hat. No oil on the moon. We know what's there already -- not much. We want to explore new worlds, go where no man has gone before. etc. You need to think on this a little more, Grasshopper. Sorry you wern't around, when it happened (it did, I was), but why should we replay it for your entertainment? :)

Easy, too much money too send astronauts too the moon. It would be just a waste money because we got all are rock samples and stuff. We got all we needed. So why go back?

We have been there and done that. Why waste billions of dollars just to prove it to a few idiots? Moon = conquored mars = new fronteer

well, i've read some quite good points that support thesis that it's was all a fake. and i'm quite ready to believe man was never on the moon.
apparently, man on the moon mission is going to happen again, i've read about it a week or something ago. but, it'll happen in like 10 years or more... anyway, they are not yet prepared to go to moon, that's as much as one could tell... it might be the money, but i do think it's the equipment. and if it's like that today, imagine how it was back then...
one should only think a bit, ...
