they do not produce economy rotors for this vehicle so they would NOT cost "around 60"... only premium or oem... this price sounds about right. reiterate with the repair shop that you would prefer it if they could resurface the rotors... if they can, it'll save you money. good luck!

Get a second opinion.

Are they selling you two rear calipers? What is the reasoning for replacing the calipers in the first place? Are they both sticking? If they are trying to get you to replace both calipers I'd definitely be looking elsewhere.

Calipers run about $100 each. Rotors for VW wear quickly. Don't know what the problem with their soft metal rotors so I'm not surprised at them recommending replacing those. 4 rotors at $30 -$40 each you're looking at about $160.

Brake Pads for both front and rear will run you about $60.

Adding in their labor costs the $600 is not out of the ball park because if they replace the caliper they must bleed the brake system too.

However I'd be questioning why the calipers need to be replaced and if they are replacing both?

any of them name brand businesses like that charge unreal prices, that sounds like a lot of money ! you shouldn't need both calipers unless they both are sticking ,,( which is highly unlikely that they both stuck at the same time ) I would get a second opinion ................ i just done a brake job on my sons car 1 caliper, 2 rotors and brake pads , the price was under was under 100 bucks for parts

why are you going to a muffler place for brakes? Go to a tire/brakes place.
