yes they do. the first part that scratches first is always the silvery backside. there will be a tiny hairline or two after the first day or so. you can buy an ipod skin or any other sort of protective case (that includes a transparent, solid screen cover) or simply keep it in the satchel. the cloth satchel might not seem like much, but it's been working great for me. it helps keeps the dust out as well as protect the casing. remember to not toss it into your purse carelessly or bring it to school/work. bad, bad, bad idea....

They all scratch whenever in contact with anything. Grains of dust in the air scratch an iPod. Even the case will scratch the actual surface. I just learned to like the scratches...lol.

Yes, unfortunately. I was beautiful when I first got it. I used it out of a case for a couple of days and there was more scratched surface on it then there was not.

the unique exhibit movie changed into in no way meant to proceed to be on the iPod once you've taken it out of the kit. it truly is merely to ascertain that the exhibit arrives scratch-loose to the patron. Now, because the Video has an acrylic exhibit, it is going to scratch truly extremely once you've taken the exhibit movie off. It probable received't contain deep gouges, yet some little tiny scratches and scuffs will look anytime you slide a chunk of fabric over it (or tuck it into your pocket). to ward off this, bypass purchase a real exhibit take care of. those are clean adhesive sheets that are truly inflexible, will stay to inform the tale lengthy-time period (you've gotten to purposefully peel them off to remove them, the position the unique movie will merely roll off in case you tuck it into your pocket some circumstances), and could withstand scratches more advantageous than the acrylic exhibit will. And at the same time as they do eventually get scuffed up sufficient that you won't be able to stand searching on the exhibit, you could merely peel it off and slap a clean new exhibit take care of on.
