I get these all the time, it's nothing to worry about, food particles just build up on your tonsils, to get them out, all you have to to is:
stick something in there and poke them off. If you can, get someone else to do it.

Sounds like pustules associated with strep throat, and yes it is an infection.
Strep throat is a contagious disease caused by infection with streptococcal bacteria. Strep throat symptoms include fever, pain, redness, and swelling of the throat and tonsils. Strep throat may produce mild or severe symptoms.
* Although strep throat is most common in school-aged children and teens, adults may also get this disease. Strep throat is more widespread during the school year when a large number of students are present in an enclosed space, laughing, yelling, sneezing, and coughing.
* The bacteria are present in the nose and throat, so normal activities such as sneezing, coughing, or shaking hands can spread the infection to other people.
* The infection can also be acquired by touching objects such as books, tables, or other hard surfaces that were handled by an infected person.
* Most cases of sore throat are caused by viruses and are not strep throat. Viral sore throats do not need treatment. Symptoms of a viral sore throat include a runny nose, cough, hoarseness, red or runny eyes, and diarrhea. The viral sore throat improves on its own without any treatment.
The infection with strep bacteria causes symptoms within 1-3 days. You may develop a red throat with white patches. The tonsils are red and enlarged. There may be specks of pus present on the tonsils, or there may be a grey or white covering on the tonsils. With strep throat, people may also have trouble swallowing and may have tender, swollen lymph glands on the sides of the neck.
These are other symptoms with strep throat:
* Headache
* Abdominal (lower stomach) pain
* Fever
* General discomfort, feeling ill or uneasy
* Loss of appetite and nausea
* Muscle pain
* Joint stiffness
* Skin rash
If you can kick it naturally that's fine, but if you can't you may need an antibiotic to cure you.
Things that will help cure you faster with out the help of a doctor are, Keeping your throat clean. Brush your teeth, gums, and tongue after every meal and before bedtime. Gargle with a good mouthwash after every brushing before bed, and when you first wake. If the gargle is too strong it could irritate your throat more. Dilute it with water if you need to. Drink strong green tea (1/2 gal a day) and eat only live foods like fresh fruit, green leafy vegetables, and nuts. (except peanuts). Avoid red meat and dairy products.
Avoid caffeine because it can cause water loss.
A "one a day" multivitamin and a minimum of 3000mg of vitamin C a day. (Ester C is preferred) And 1/2 gallon of pure water or distilled water a day. This makes a total of a minimum of 1 gal a day of fluids. Aspirin is preferred for pain. If your fever gets higher than 103 you need to see a doctor.
If you have these danger signs with strep throat, seek care in a hospital's emergency department:
* Difficulty breathing
* Difficulty swallowing food
* Unable to swallow saliva
* Severe throat pain
* Making a noise during breathing
* Bleeding in the throat
* Swelling of the neck
If your throat swells to where you can't swallow liquids, or any difficulty breathing, see a doctor. Don't take anyone else's medications, or someone else's antibiotics, they can do more harm than good.
It can be a long painful experience with out a doctors help, but you should be feeling better in less than 12 days, if not see a doctor.

You need to see a Doctor,Anything that looks Foreign in the most sensitive area in the body like your Throat, should be consulted to a doctor immediately.
Nobody here can help you for that, only a real doctor with enough equipment can determine whats in your Throat.
I dont Think its food because if it is you should have swallowed it already by drinking water.
Go see a doctor.

You need to get tested for strep. If so an anti-biotic is the way to go for treatment. If not try warm salt water gargles and gargling with hydrogen perioxide.

if it's white spots, you might want to get tested for strep. Instead of asking people here, try seeing a real doctor.
