I do ballet, and for me pirouettes are the worst! No matter how much I practice I can´t get them neat and can hardly do 3.

Spinning pikes. That is to leap, do a full 360 horizontal to the ground in the pike position, land and do another. There are no steps between landing and the next jump. The most that I have seen is 4 in a row covering the width of a stage on a video from Ukraine. The best that I have managed is 1 in a row with the spin, 16 without the spin. Getting both the travel and the rotation is difficult because the centre of rotation does not correspond to the centre of mass.

I do Ukrainian dancing.

Hmm.

In both ballet and jazz I have always had trouble/stumbled on my turn outs. Or when I have to do fast pique turns or fast soutenue turns, it all goes floppy. I have learned and trained to improve, I am lately unstoppable. When I was in the beginning of the learning, Chaînés were harder than anything, and it isn't even that hard!

In Salsa and Ballroom the only troubles I have come across are My American Rhythm is way more consistent compared to American Smooth. I am also improving going on 6 years of this.

Here is what comes to my mind:

Latin Ballroom:
Reverse Samba Roll (done well). Requires a lot of coordination. There are many rotations in the body supposed to be taking place and they are all supposed to be part of one big rotation picture that looks like a tornado.

Ballroom: Feather Step - Three Step combination of Slowfox done with half-the-timing. It is really hard to control the step in terms of rise and fall on the proper timing.

I've heard that in ballet, the famous 32 fouette turns are hard to do. When I did ballet it was way beyond my skill range to even attempt it. You have to get back in perfect balance after each and every one of those, and they have to look similar to one another, with fouette being hard enough element by itself.

If speed is an issue, clogging. If cooperation is an issue, group clogging can be even more brutal. If balance is an issue, ballet can be quite the stinker.

Wikipedia also has a good article on capoeira.

It sounds funny, but booty popping! I did ballet for sooooo many years, and I took up hip hop for fun. I'm so strict and straight that I have the hardest time relaxing my hips and butt so I can "pop". I'm certainyl the silliest looking hip hopper!

Foutes are definately hard, but it only takes a little more effort and a lot mor practice to get them down neatly.
