So your sayying the press cared more about the truth and showing what was really going on out in the world? could that be the problem with the press today?

so your sayying they need to try to find out the things there not being allowed to see now and report them?

My first response is during the Vietnam War era. Reporters were telling the truth about the war, actually showing the death and destruction that were a part of war.

Plus, the Pentagon Papers coupled with the Watergate reporting showed the integrity and credibility of the press when dealing with the illegalities of an administration.

Many say it was when Watergate was discovered. This was certainly a great success, whether it may be called the peak of credibility I dare not judge. Today credibility is lower, as many journalists report from Iraq only what they are allowed to see (so called "embedded journalists").
