it feels like its lost compression and smokes real bad, cant even get it to start now. i cant afford to have someone else do it so any help would be graetly appreciated

Being that its a 350 its a older bike so if it was blowing blue all the time while riding yes it needs a piston, rings, and the jug cleaned up. Youve probably lost compression if its been doing it for a bit. Good Luck.

You could also need valve seals. Check these first. Bad seals will definitely cause compression loss & tons of engine smoke. They also require less tear down to fix.

a yamaha 350 is known to do this. your rings are worn as you stated. a 4 stroke engine should last a long time. you must have many miles on this atv
