Proactive works well for people who have very oily skin, or extreme acne. If you have neither, then proactive will be too harsh for your skin. Strivetin is like an AHA and slightly breaks down your skin, so combining the two of them wouldn't be a smart idea. Go to your local day spa and get some testers of the cleansers that they use. For the same amount of money that you would spend on Proactive, you could get a professional cleanser, toner and mask, which would be better for you skin, because it's not a cookie cutter type of product.

I have tried Proactiv and LOVE IT! I am 32 and have always had a problem with acne not a real bad problem but a problem none the less. I got tired of trying all different types of treatments and soaps and nothing was working so I figured I would give Proactiv a try. After just a week I was amazed. My skin was clear and soft. I have been using it for 5 months now and well worth the money. My skin is not dried out or flaky in anyway either! Not sure about using it with your anti wrinkle cream but I would just ask Proactiv if you can use it or not. They might even have a anti wrinkle cream. Well I hope this helps!

It works for me but not very well for my daughters. They are 17 and 13. I am 48 and was experiencing menopausal acne, but it's pretty much cleared up from the Proactive. I notice results after the second night's use. You have to use it according to the directions exactly because if you miss a step, you will notice you will break out right away, but that is probably because it's actually working. I think the people who had problems with over-drying weren't following the directions! I haven't had that problem, but I've only been using it for 2 weeks now.
You should consult with your doctor or call the toll-free information number for Proactive for your other question about interaction of products.
If you don't want to make a big commitment, they sell the kit in 2 ounce bottles for "only $19.95 plus shipping and handling..."

It worked for me for a while, but eventually it lost its effectiveness. The only thing that has worked for me was the regimen described in the book The Truth About Beauty by Oz Garcia and Kat James. Check it out. Its way cheaper.

I had horrible acne as a teenager. I used Proactive, and it cleared it up with no scars at all. I highly recommend it. You have to put some effort into it; it's an entire system, not just one cream, but it's worth it.

It just depends on your skin type. It uses benzyl peroxide like alot of products. I used it but it dried out my skin so bad that it actually hurt!
