I have some tapes we would like to convert to DVD's, and I am wondering if it is possible to do this with an iMac? Are there any extra accessories needed?

There are several solutions. I personally have a DAC-200 that has plenty of ports for VCR, camera, cassette player, etc. That hooks to your Mac and converts the analog (VHS tapes) to digital. you can then burn to DVD. Very slick and easy to use.

Yep. As long as your mac has a DVD burner. Just get an Elgato digitizer:

Scroll down to the "Convert analog VHS tapes into digital files" section.

If your mac have a TV tuner card AND DVD burner then YES. Just download some DVR programs to capture the signal from the TV Card. Then burn the capture signals (Videos) to DVD.
