Specific gravity is the ratio of the mass of a substance at a given volume and temperature divided by the mass of water at that same volume and temperature..... density is usually measured at 25 deg C, and the density of water at 25 is 1.0g/cm3.
So 2.7gAl/1.0gH2O = 2.7
and 10.5gAg/1.0gH2O = 10.5
