not a bother to me. i actually got into a conversation with a walmart employee about it, and it's because they aren't making money on it and not that many people use it anyway and if they do they end up never coming to get it. so all in all not a big deal.

I'm surprised Wally World has held out this long with retaining layaway. I worked in a retail store with layaway, and it was a big pain; people would put a bunch of s**t on layaway, make a couple of payments, and then come back 3 weeks later and take it off layby so they could get their money back.
Or, they would put the last "gotta have it toy" or something like that on layby, and then forget about it until 3 weeks after the time period was up, and then yell when the item wasn't there waiting for them...
This wasn't EVERYONE who used it, of course, but it happened often enough to make it a real pain.
Having said that, I do feel for the people who depend on layby, especially around Xmas time...

Honestly, I never used layaway - although I think it is a good idea. I know it's an old-fashioned concept now that people just buy what they want on credit and have it instantly.
I save up for what I need/want and just pay cash for it. I guess delayed gratification was instilled in me. But I am sure others might be very dissapointed that they removed that service - it's better than buying on credit.

Many people use layaway for saving things on hold. If it gets taken away, I would want my money back too! People need layaway because some people don't just have money on the spot at times. Oh well. At least they peobably have layaway at other stores maybe...

I never really used layaway, but i bet they lose money big time, because there are people out there who do not have credit cards or other financial means. they are just trying to be like target.

When did this happen? I always put my Christmas presents in layaway there. It's one of the few places that still have layaway. I'll be very upset if it's true.

I heard about that yesterday. I still can't believe it. If they were losing that much money on it I think they should have changed their policy before they got rid of it all together.
I liked it, and I'll miss it.
I never abused it.

i feel sorry for everyone who uses the layaway plan because its suppose to those families who are struggling. its hard because things are getting expensive and families are going to have a hard time with that.
