Yes, good hygiene practice is important. You can always tell a good (clean) childcare setting by how clean the bathroom and baby change station are. They should practice proper hand washing - staff and children. Easy access soap and disposable or seperate hand towels.

good hygiene is a key thing to teach children it is good for their health and for the good of the other children!washing the hands is #1 in my book! teaching little ones to do this for one minute will be a good asset for them!

I think teaching the basic is the most important...washing your hands before eating, after playing, using the restroom...
usually once they understand those the rest comes pretty easy.
