can't seem to get any work done today

It appears that you perform your duties well under a multi-task environment and in this case you are drawing a blank.
If no ones around I'd pretend I am telling off the real annoying ones and things that you normally don't get the chance to do when they are there. I bet your performance will jump by leaps and bounds because they will be watching you to see if you have the right to tell them this.
It's all just a fantasy and sometimes our seriousness gets the good parts of us!!!

Go to your boss with your head in your hands and explain in a low, hushed voice that you are expereincing a flare up of your cereberal flatulence disorder and need to go home and lie down....I bet you they won't think it through long enough to realize you say that you had a brain fart...
