Yes. As a national practice, no.

I keep reading from everyone that I should look at China and USSR for successful communist national ideology. You couldn't be more wrong.

A common definition of Communism would be something similar to this: Communism is an ideology that seeks to establish a future classless, stateless social organization, based upon common ownership of the means of production and the absence of private property.

China and USSR are not communist nations by definition. Since the USSR doesn't exist anymore, it shouldn't be discussed. It should be called a failure and people should move on.

If China was to be considered a communist nation, this wouldn't be the case:

The country that has got closest is Cuba. Unfortunately we'll never know how successful it could have been as they have been under an American embargo for over 40 years.
To their credit they have an excellent education system and their health service is the envy of many countries. The ideology is sound it's simply that when you put it into the hands of those who seek personal power it becomes warped. The politics are sound but all too often the politicians are not.

Not Really. The only real "successful" Countries were the USSR and China, and half the people live or lived in poverty and was cruel living. The USSR was a world power because their leaders ruled with an iron fist and had an EXTREMELY powerful army. They were a superpower because they also won WWII. China is still kind of poor. So in summary, communism is sick and it makes America thankful that we can say what we want.

It's been as succesful as capitalism as in no country has either capitalism or communism been wholly implemented. Communism was always doomed to failure as europe and the US set out to destroy the whole idea, probably due to the fact they couldn't make any money out of it.
Every single economy in the world is a mixed economy, so there will never be a definitive answer to this question.

Yes. In Communist China it has proved very successful. Looks like thick people do not know that it is communism in China today. Oh well! What did I expect? I knew we are hemmed in by morons but I really had no clue how thickly.

I think maybe it has proved to be generally successful in Cuba and still is today. Up until the break-up of Yugoslavia it was generally successful there. In both these cases a strong capable leader deserving of respect by his people, had a lot to do with it.

It is self evident that it wont work, equality for everybody is unworkable, you have to have someone in charge, which defeats the object instantly, if you do everything by commitee nothing ever gets done, even in a commitee situation there are stronger personalities which influence the others, again defeating the object, humans cant work that way, its stagnating and eventually everything grinds to a halt.

Difficult to say, as the USA have systematically worked to destroy and bring down every communist state that has ever seemed to be working.
If they had stayed out of it, maybe it would have proved successful.

Once communism fell on a (almost) global scale, they went after the Muslims. We all know how that's going.

The big question is, who will they go after once the Muslims have fallen?

Its just and ideology working on everyone being equal and I am afraid everyone is not equal not from the minute they're born to the moment they die. So great ideology but just doesn't work in practise

well... the thing is... democratic socialism is working fairly well in places like sweeden and to a lesser degree, Canada.. very low unemployment and hardly no one in poverty...

and that's probably much more like what Marx had in mind with "communism" than what was going on in the USSR, China or Cuba... which were basically dictatorships... which no one really likes... and all dictatorships fall...
