If you want to mary you then step into the 21st century and you propose to him. This is not unusual anymore.

I would use caution with this type of thinking. If you didn't discuss it prior to moving in, I wouldn't expect ever getting married.
If you want to get married, then find someone interested. If you love your guy... stay with him and don't get married... marriage doesn't really change a relationship anyway...
I have been married twice and divorced twice... both times the guy asked several times and I eventually caved thinking it was the right thing for then... but now I realize that they were seeking security in marriage... DON'T BE FOOLED BY THAT ONE!

In this case, forget about getting him to propose, he won't. You have to initiate plans for the wedding and get him to go along. If he shows signs of objection or disagreement, it's time to leave him.

Give an ultimatum....see if he responds. If not, you might want to start looking for someone who shares your same goals and dreams. I have seen many unhappy people in relationships where they want to get married and the other doesn't. Just be honest and tell it like it is.

Hmm, the last thing he wants to do is settle down and have kids so show him what you are made of. Show him you are relationship material, and arent too eager to get old with kids. Try not to get angry with him or even argue. Lastly make sure he knows not to save money for your ring unless you want, that could really postpone that day.

Its time to give him an ultimatim either you get married or you are gone. Since you have been living with him for so long it shouldn't be an issue for him unless he has been just using you. Make him decide ASAP

if you are living together why do you need to get married? are you happy? if you aren't then why get married? if you are happy then who cares if you have a piece of paper that legally binds you? If after 2 yrs you have never talked about marriage then odds are he isn't gonna marry you.

You openly discuss the marriage issue. Bring it up when he's in a good mood, and talk about what you want, and listen to what he wants. Compromise!
