Yes I will stand up, are you in charge? I think we should all go fight for our tax paying rights. Why do we not get benefits for filing joint taxes if we live with our partners.. What about are medical benefits? I want equal right across the board. I want to have the same rights as everyone else....

Hmmmm......
Sounds like a plan to me; however, I think using the term -- and the means of a 'civil war' -- is a bit over the top.
African Americans in the '60's fought back, largely through non-violent marches and other means and their efforts eventually paid off. There was violence to be certain, but by no stretch of the imagination was it on the part of the African Americans. It was the racists that instigated the violent confrontations. Perhaps that's what we need.
The public saw the gross injustices created by our society and rallied to support the cause of Civil Rights.
I think you are close to developing the right concept.
Like I said....sounds like a plan to me....
Best Wishes!

I approach all people equally. I give each person the level of respect and high regard we all deserve -- by believing everyone is either my Gay or Lesbian brother or sister.

I agree! and I'd vote for you. Ok true I'm only basing my vote on previous questions/answers you've given in this forum, and your picture which is way cute, and yes I know that makes me shallow but since I'm gay thats almost a compliment!. On a more serious side, for that to work it means more people need to stand up and be counted, but for some the closet is a much safer place. Not for me of course, I love wide open spaces!.

A few years ago the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom...attempted to organize a "Rainbow flu day"
Since the GLBT community has quite a bit of disposable income, they tried to get the entire community to stop for one day...no spending... no work... no driving...nothing...
Money stamped with the word "Gay" to be circulated throughout the country to show our spending power...
But sadly less than 2% of the American GLBT community participated
Fight???...nahh...I think most of us would rather sit in the bistro sip latte's and complain

I've been standing up for a Very long time, but a civil war is NOT the answer.

I don't because I'm an American Citizen, not a "Gay Nation" citizen. I believe in the rights of ALL AMERICANS not just straight or gay. I don't start a civil war because it won't solve anything. Our nation can't afford a fight of such magnatude, we're already floundering because of Bush's war.
Yes, we should elect fair minded officials, but not in a nation of our own. I don't believe in seperatist attitudes. I feel they're counter productive and won't solve anything.

Everyone has a cause that gets ignored or put down. If everyone did what you propose, we would be a country of tribes in constant war. Just like somalia.

I think setting a good example to the people we know and educating people and society in general about homosexuality would be better. The sooner people understand it the sooner we will be accepted widely.

We certainly don't need another war!!! Ever think you may be one of the ones killed in that war? Innocent children, people of all races, ages and so on would be killed or badly injured. All for your standing up rights. How could you sleep at night with that on your conscience?

The sooner you win the sooner the Rapture . I suppose that is a plus. I remember the story of Sodom and Gomorrah and the angel of the Lord took Lot and his family out of the city because it was to be destroyed Lot was God's child so he took him out of his judgement.
Remember this always if their ever comes a time when Gay marriage is widely accepted.
1. God will destroy this nation that is America
2. He will take his children out of the judgement A.K. A the Rapture.
So if you will be taken out of the "city" so to speak then perhaps advocating a win wouldn't matter much to u. But if you will not be taken out then I would not be in such a hurry to win.
I love ya not everything u do remember tough love is love too.
Love,
