If you are mormon, is it wrong to like say the name of the Green Day song "Jesus of Suburbia?" Is it really taking the lords name in vain? I don't think the song means anything like that.

nothing wrong with saying that no. it isn't taking the lords name in vain. besides a hardcore mormon wouldn't probably be listening to green day anyway.

I am mormon. You don't know what your talking about. Saying Jesus of suburbia is not taking the Lord's name in vain. Saying it out anger, frustration, ect would be taking it in vain. What does being mormon have to do with this question?

I don't think it's wrong just to say the name of a song. Taking the Lords name in vain is different. Like when you use his name in profanity or things like that. Is the song saying anything negative about Jesus?

I am mormon and i dont think they are taking jesus's name in vain. that would be the only thing wrong but i do listen to green day and i dont think they meant it that way. besides jesus is in all religions not just in the mormon religion.

If you have to justify something, it's probably wrong.
My two cents: It's not exactly swearing, but it's also not exactly being reverent with His holy name...you have to make the call for yourself. For me, I would try to avoid the very appearance of evil.
