You may need a tune up - which entails new spark plugs and wires - worst case scenerio it may be your converter or an electical diode

It may also be a oxygen sensor - there are two of them one your car. One on the muffler near the rear and one right in front by your manifold.

Of course, if it were the fuel pump it more than likely wouldn't even run! Don't think that's your problem!

It could be a multitude of things- everything from a tune-up to a major internal problem like burnt valves. If you're not mechanically inclined you'll have to have a mechanic diagnose and fix it. That thing has an ECM and more sensors and emissions stuff than cotter has pills. Could just be as simple as the tune-up, vacuum leak, etc but until you run an code verification on it you won't know for sure!

Could be a blocked fuel line or plugged fuel filter... I'd replace the filter first. It's a lot less expensive than changing out a fuel pump!

I have a 2000 blazer and we had to put in a new fuel filter and pump. It was doing almost the same plus it didn't want to start sometimes.

yeah have em check the fuel lines, spark plugs to make sure they are properly gapped and the fuel injectors if any of these are wrong it will do that and if it has an air filter have it changed cause it could be clogged and it will not run as well too

Sounds like your timing is too advanced. Rotate the dist. cap.

Could also be a sensor in your trans. Does it occur when slowing down, like at a stoplight, 2nd gear to first gear? Take to dealer. He will know. Give him as many symptoms as you can!
