The format for saving games will be SD cards ( the hard drive is for downloadble content etc.) but the $500 ps3 doesn't have a SD card reader. Oh and another thing how can my PSP communicate with my $500 PS3 if it soesn't have wi-fi built in? Obviously I have to be able to save my games and I don't want to lose PSP fuctionality, I'm so confused!

I've read that you can save PSX and PS2 games to the hardrive. Sony will also be selling accessories that will give the $500 PS3 capabilities that the $600 version would have stock. Buying the $600 dollar version would be more cost affective because you would already have all the features you need, as opposed to buying all the features you want separately, which would possibly cost more than $600 dollars in the end.

The PS3 has WIFI built in and you can connect your PSP with PS3 with a USB cord. As for the SD cards, I found nothing that says PS3 supports SD cards. Game saves will probably be saved to hard drive like Xbox 360.

Games will be saved directly to the hard-drive and the PS3 has ports so you can use your old memory cards to save PS2 games. The PS3 also has a built in wi-fi and blue-tooth technology so your PS3 can interact with your psp. They did a demonstration at the e3 show that you could even use your psp as a rear view mirror in one of there racing games, so you could see who is behind you on your psp and you could see the road in front of you on your ps3.
