Did she break the phone? It's friggin hilarious how many people are giving you "straight" answers.
It's like going to the movies and being the only whos laughing because I'm the only one who "gets it"

I have been there before. You will work things out and get back together but it will come to a head again. You at some point will be forced to defend your self and at that point you will be looked at by the police and your and her friends as a wife beater. Believe me I have been there. It will not even matter if you have pictures of her hitting you wihtthe phone. It will be proof that she had to defend her self because of your aggression. So no matter what you do you are in the worng.
Get out and don't go back. You will find it is very one sided and you better get a lawer and fight for everything and just maybe if you are lucky you might get your shaving kit. You are now a wife beater because she had to hit you to defend her self to get you to leave. Yes you are a wicked person now and everyone will go to her side. That is just how it is. Look at the poor little lady who had to live with such an evil man. She even had to hit him wiht a phone to defend her self or she might be dead right now.. I can hear it now...
I know you will get back with her because we all are foolish and do because we believe we can make it work.
You need to print this out and mark my words it will happen again.
And again you will be in the wrong no matter if you are right or not. You will always have to kiss up to her and if that is the kind of life you want then I would say get a good med insurances. You will need it.

I can't save your marriage, but I can save your comedy career: don't do it, stick to your day job!
All kidding aside, your wife wasn't in the mood for a joke. Saying that you love her was a good thing, it just came in the wrong delivery. She had no right to hit you with anything, but you can let that go. Just don't let it happen again.
Give her some time to cool off, then go back home and work things out. Bring her something as a peace offering, but make sure it's not food. You want her to see it and remember your effort to make up with her.
Apologize if need be, and promise never to do it again, and when you promise never to do it again, never do it again! Let us know what happens. Good luck.

That is pretty funny. I would have laughed and then hit you in the back of the head. Maybe she was trying to be serious. Find the spare key, try looking under the only rock in the flower bed and go inside and make her a nice surprise. Clean the house or make dinner, show her you care. Then try talking things out.

oh my God what where you thinking ?
ok that was not right , as a woman it hurt me too when i read what u wrote. So first thing you do is write a love letter . yes a letter. explainning all the qualities you love about her and the real reason why you asked her to marry you. then go on to say how hurt you where when she said that in the first place (even if you werent) explain that you felt useless and hurt by the woman you love and the only thing that came up to respond to that hurtful remark was that .
then accompany the letter with flowers and chocolates . Its a silly fight but i dont blame her for doin that . i hope you two resolve it soon

Dump her @ss. I know that sounds curt, but if some woman pulled that crap on me and was, as you said she was in the beginning, then chalk it up to experience and tell her to hit the bricks.
Go find an attorney.....divorce her (without malice) and get free. Find a woman that has a heart and has a brain and you will be MUCH better off.
Good luck to you. You do not deserve this kind of stuff.

Ha ha ha ha. I like the part where she hit you with a phone. Was she on the phone? If she was, then she was probably mad that you interrupted her. If she wasn't, then it is a good sign she didn't hit you with something worse. Locking you out of the house shows me that she was mad at you, but didn't hate you. If she continued to yell and hit you, then that would be worse.

All too often anger causes people to step out of thier usual bounds and do unlogical things. Most likely she is feeling like a bch right now. Time will heal things after that go see a therapist or have a nice heart to heart conversation about what is causeing her anger.

C'mon, you're on the computer, did you sneak back into the house through the window? Go sleep on the couch. Replace the phone tomorrow. It'll be ok.
