Are telemarketers really so mentally deficient think that they will get people to by their product by interrupting their dinner and trying to shove their product down the potential customer's throat? How is that supposed to help anyone?

I'm not saying that telemarketing ISN'T effective, I'm saying that it SHOULDN'T BE. Telemarketers prey on overly trusting people who know absolutely noting more about the product or service than what the telemarketer lies to them about, and what's more, like you have pointed out, they don't care. It's business. They would sell their soul for a nickel and buy someone else's for a penny and still be able to sleep like a baby the same night.

The point as in any kind of marketing is MAKING THE SALE. They wouldn't do it if it wouldn't be effective. They don't care about helping people, they want to make that person to buy whatever they're selling.

How would telemarketers feel if we all call them at their home?!?

It's an effective method... people do buy the products and the companies who sell the stuff and the telemarketers all make money. Capitalism at it's core!

I am a telemarketer.. Well, technically but I only sell our product to businesses so I wont ever be calling you. Let me tell you someting about a telemarketer. We work our butts off calling rude people all day like you. The people who tell me no fine I hang up and go on to the next call but where you let it upset you it's how we get paid. I am a real person, I have a real life, yes I like my job. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

It's not quality, it's quantity. Call enough people, and eventually SOMEONE will take the bait.

Believe it or not, they DO get people to buy their things. Maybe not that many, but they still do.
