use a magnet to get the iron out. add water to the remaining sand and salt. the salt will dissolve and the sand will not. then evaporate the water out of the salt.

put the sand and salt into a BIG vat of water and shake really hard. If you've got enough water all the salt will enter solution, and the sand will settle by itself at the bottom. strain through a coffee filter. repeat several times depending on thouroughness you're looking for.
dry your sand. take the water slough (what you poured through the filter(s)) and then slowly boil the water at the lowest boiling temp possible. the water will vaporize leaving the salt in the bottom of your boiling container.
