Oh sure, every day, just like superman flying. That is possible too. Go jump out a window and see.

The mind conquers physics regularly. Pyrokinesis could very well be a possibility to one with an open mind.
Spontaneous Combustion, on the other hand, was recently proven to almost always be caused by the cumbustion of some heat source (usually cigerettes) and body fat, which burns quite slowly. People catch fire somehow, then their fat ignites, and the slowly begin to burn literally from the inside out. The temperature is quite low at that point, as compared to a combusted flame. (Think of fry grease. The grease burns alot hotter than the flame that heated it.) Because there is less fat in our limbs, that is why often in sc cases, limbs are all that remain.

Perhaps not quite the way books describe it, but think of spontaneous combustion. That is a form of making fire without an accellerant or way to light the fire. Unfortunately no persons to my knowledge have survived to explain what happened. In my way of thinking, that is what spawned the authors and oral historians to create this idea.

Ah, spirituality and magic are indeed difficult areas to either study or prove. My answer is: Perhaps, depending on your standards for reality. Consider the following complications regarding the paranormal:
1) The power of the mind to create false reality, and
2) The power of reality to prove itself to all universally.
In clarification on the first point, the human mind is capable of creating memories, thoughts, dreams, and even realities which are accepted to be real by only the subject, and sometimes even to be shared in common with a small group of people. Psychologists are actively studying the reasons, causes, and implications of this phenomenon (most commonly linked with pschizophrenia) with little success; though the most popular dialog revolves around chemical imbalances and genetics (cheap and meaningless explainations in my mind in that they ignore the root causes and foundational principles). Given the strengthe of the human desire to "be right," it is virtually impossible for the subject to rely on one's own faculties in ruling this possibility out. So any documentation of magic or spirituality must be verified independently and openly by multiple witnesses in order to escape the first complication of the mind.
The second complication involves the possibility that not only does the mind establish one's own perspective on reality, but it is actually a part of reality itself. In other words, the desires of the mind are realized in reality by natural means. So a person "creating" a monsoon in Japan acually influences some butterfly to flap is wings in a certain way in Central Park several days earlier. This is the idea that, though an event may be easily explained by real causes, the original and thus cause of the event was spiritual/mental.
So whether the mind creates a reality of a fire or just a perception of a fire that is only real to the subject, it is generally agreed that all real events are explainable (even though this isn't always true).
Personally, I have never witnessed nor heard of any common account of the creation of a fire by the human mind without other natural explainations. My best examples may have natural causes, and consist of Elijah vs the priests of Bale (OT) and Moses' burning bush, and burning whirlwind (while leading the children of Israel out of Egypt,OT).

yes. researches into this field have been studying the human brain, and have found a few exceedingly rare cases where a person can use their mind to start a small fire. This is also known as pyrokinesis.

Pyrokinesis - or the ability to make fire with your mind - is severely restricted on this planet by collective agreement. However, the possibility DOES exist; it's a valid question.

I believe that some people have the potential to do it, but they do not know that. If you think you may be one of those then you need to spend some time meditating and evaluating yourself.

No one has ever been documented doing so.
You need physical things like a combustion source and fuel.

The phenomena is called pyrokinesis and is one of many psychic phenomena, like ESP or telekinesis.
I have always been fascinated by the paranormal and parapsychic worlds, but do I believe in them personally...no.
