Faux pas ? He's upset because he put his foot in his mouth

I don't think it was a faux pas. I think the pope was trying to ignite the Muslim world, otherwise why would he or anyone else in such a public position read from something that they know is so controversal? And isn't Christianity suppose to be about love?..... I think the old guy just showed his ignorance by not saying he was sorry, instead he said he was sorry for the reaction to his words.... How stupid?!

Oh - getting hold of someone's 'faupas' could be illegal in some countries. Reacting to a faux pas - well, that is something a world-leader should expect from the media.

Since when is a scholarly dissertation with quotes a "faupas"? Do not confuse a person using proper speech with an inflammatory Muslim populace whose eagerness for violence will use anything to vent the repressed fear within themselves.

The pig fat has apparently hit the fire, and we see the future in all its primitive chaos. Let the games begin.

Its interesting how when the pope quotes an ancient emperor he is attacked like a wounded animal. But, when islamic religious and political leaders call for the destruction of Israel and the U.S., nobody bats an eye.

The pope said that Muslims were voilent, so they showed him that they weren't by burning down churches. Great job. I believe what he said. That is unfortunately the only thing that I believe (I'm an Atheist)

It might have been the media that made it look like he did something wrong.

All he did was read what someone else said.

I really don't care, since I'm not catholic, but I don't see that he did anything wrong.

I don't think he's mad. He just doesn't understand what went wrong.
