You can be a ceo with an undergrad degree, but it all depends on the orientation, size, and history of the company.

You could even be a ceo without an undergrad degree (if you start if the business).

CEO's in specialized industries sometimes have only an undergrad in engineering, and worked their way up in the firm. Today though, you would probably need to accompany that degree with an MBA to move up into management at most companies (but not impossible!).

Some MBA's become CEO's but usually by slowly working their way up the organization and also earning their MBA from a top 20 school which are very competitive in admissions. Getting your MBA from a second or third tier basically will mean you will have to prove yourself much more to get to the top because you will start lower on the management chain. You will essentially have to prove that you are more worthy than the top 20 mba grads in your org.

My advice if you want to become a CEO... don't make your goal to become CEO, become a leader at your organization and work at a place you love. then learn everything there is to know about the org. and industry in general, make solid relationships with your uppers and remain loyal. Other than that it is a lot of luck and positioning - most mba's will never become ceo's (again depending on what company you are talking about) regardless of their qualifications, education, or who they are as a person.

Typically a masters is sufficient for a medium sized company. It usually depends on the size of the company and what they want.

If you have a great reputation and excellent experience then a masters may not be necessary.

Same goes for the engineering degree. The only difference is the ype of compaany. If it is an engineering firm then a bacheolers may be a minimum requirement.
