You're absolutely right. The same holds true for any type of phobic question too.
It's best not to respond at all. Although if you're able, responding with warmth, kindness and logic is good too. You can't hope to convince anyone of anything, but if you feel obliged to respond, at least it's not feeding their hunger for attention.
I don't think it's possible to get everyone on board. The regulars might know better, but new people who don't realize there are such things as trolls will still jump in.

I agree, these people are looking for a reaction, they get off on it. If nobody posted any replies to their questions, and completely ignored their answers, they would first try being more and more offensive to start getting attention back, rather like a 1 year old throwing a tantrum, then, eventually, they would get tired of it and find somewhere else to play.

Yea there really is no point answering a question that is meant to slander you. Some people will hold to the opinions no matter what anyone says. If someone uses profanity, stereotypes, or name calling in their answer it probably isn't worth responding to. I try not to answer those because it is rather childish. I know i've been guilty one time or another of responding to a childish question. By the way I love you and so does Jesus Christ. If you let Jesus do you time for you you won't have to. I hope to see you in paradise one day bud.
Love,

Abso-fu*king-loutely. Sometimes I'm surprised that people leave answers to some of the questions asked as it just gives them what they want, feedback, so why bother. Another thing that always amazes me is I see 20 answers and only 2 people have given the question a thumbs down, now what's wrong with that picture!. Thumbs down and move on, let that be the new mantra!, say it with me ya'all, .... thumbs down and move on .... one more time ..... thumbs down and move on.
Hugs!

Well..If their "question" can be responded to with facts to show their hate and homophobia for what it is, do so.
If they just go overboard, I simply report them and report each and every seperate violation the question violates. Adult content, Slurs, Harassment...ect.
As far as adding fuel to the fire..no, they seek US out, I won't be run out of any forum by the haters.

I suppose you have a point here....we are feeding them, their ego, and allowing to them to control our emotions....
As a person I thought I had pretty tough skin...but after viewing my answers to the homophobes It seem I've given them exactly what they asked for...darn it

Au contraire my friend. I would prefer to let them have it with both barrels, the ignorant small dicked numb nuts. See how cathartic that is? I say flame 'em and flame 'em well done. Torch on!

Understand this:
For every smart person there is an idiot and may it be best you not respond to them.

Yup, just ignore them. I do. It's not worth anything to answer their questions or comments.
