Why are there some people who say man has never been on the moon?

I have heard several statements saying man has never been physically on the moon. why do they say that?

Here's my stock answer. Please read, and any moon landing deniers please answer the questions within.

400,000 people were involved in the Apollo missions - that was about 1 in 500 of the entire population of the USA. Look around your sports stadium next time you go see your favorite football or baseball team – on average there will be about 100 people in there who were involved in the Apollo project.

Just ask yourself: if the moon landings were fake, how the heck could you ever either fool all these people, or if they were in on it, how you would keep them all quiet.

Also, when you actually study the Apollo process, right from the first developments with the Mercury and Gemini missions in the early 1960s to the final landings in 1972, you realize how much time, effort and evolution (and suffering) went into the whole incredible process.

So, all you people who are crazy enough to listen to cr@p conspiracy stories, but who have never given much time to the actual Apollo story, please tell us sensibly at what point did it start being a fake? Do you believe that Glenn never orbited in 1962, or that Apollo 7 never orbited Earth and practiced docking just a short year before the landing, or that Apollo 9 went on to orbit the moon just prior to the apollo 11 landing in 1969?

At what point did the faking start switching in, which would have meant massive and surreptitious changing of millions of lines of software, tinkering with all the thousands of pieces of electronics, and all at some imaginary time when the thousands of controllers and technicians weren't looking.

And who was this army of technicians, engineers, software experts, graphics experts, electonics experts, who set up this scam without all the other thousands of experts being aware.

You don't have to go into all that cr@p about flags waving, stars not showing in the sky, landmarks looking strange - they can fool all the ignorant people who have not the brains to see that an airless, low gravity object like the Moon behaves totally different to earth. You don't need to go past all the questions I pose above.

When armed with the knowledge of the history of America in space, only a real idiot would think the moon landings were fake.

So, I say to all those who do not want to be thought of as congenital idiots, to go do the research, and stop listening to all the subversive people who want and love to find conspiracy in everything good in America (and it's not even my country).

The US government has a long record of telling lies, both small and large. It has told monstrously huge lies and backed them up with small and large lies. And it has been caught often enough that people are habitually cynical and doubtful whenever the government says that it has done, or that it will do, anything. We really expect the lies now, even if we don't say so, and we are rarely surprised or disappointed when, in the end, it turns out that the United States goverment has lied to us yet again.

I suppose the character of our government developed little by little over a considerable span of time. Each US President found certain lies expedient enough that moral considerations were set aside to gain whatever advantages falsehood promised. Some of the lies have never been detected...yet. But steadily a percentage of them were discovered and became generally known to the American public.

And, incrementally, the reputation of the government has soured.

The US government fears the citizenry now... so much that it has taken steps toward controlling us with military action on a scale that we have not seen before. And consequently we Americans have every reason to fear our government and to want to bring about its replacement, not by the sham of election, but by the fire of revolution.

In revolution, however, we must be careful or our victory would be stolen from us by tricksters who, at first, would pretend to be some of us, but whose real ambition would be to become our new tyrants. The Jews come to mind in this regard. If revolution comes again to America, do not trust Jews in the leadership roles, else all our sacrifice will be for nothing, or worse than nothing.

But Apollo did land on the moon. That part is no lie. Every once in a while, the US government does something significant without much outright fakery (although there is inevitably quite a bit of political and commercial hype). Or, at least, it used to.

With regard to conspiracy theories, you can't just assume that they are all true, nor can you assume that they are all false. There is no substitute for doing your own research and weighing your own facts in each case. While there is such a thing as a certified expert, or a credible authority, the ability to distinguish one of them from their imposters is itself a difficult skill to master.

Conspiracies and hoaxes have BOTH been with humans since the beginning. They are older than civilization, and they'll be around after civilization is gone.

The Apollo moon landings really happened. No US government/NASA conspiracy. The purpose of the landings was (1) political grandstanding, (2) bolstering national pride and (3) scientific research.

The Nazi gas chambers are fictional. Zionist conspiracy. The purpose of the conspiracy is to loot the taxpayers of the United States and Germany, and as a bludgeon to bully other countries into making monetary concessions: such as the Jewish extortion against the Swiss banks that happened several years ago.

The World Trade Center towers were demolished with explosives; they were not felled by the aircraft collisions. There is a conspiracy, and the US government and the government of Israel are probably both parties to it. (This is not to say that Arab terrorists weren't also involved: they might have been.) The purpose of this conspiracy was to gain an excuse to wage war on Iraq, defeat a rival to Israel for power in the middle east, and to gain control of the Iraqi oil fields.

It's just a theory. I haven't really read up on it, but some say that there would've been different lighting on the moon & not what was shown on TV, that there isn't wind on the moon so they flag shouldn't have been waving, etc. No one really even knows if all that is true or not.

I think they say that so they just prove others wrong. There is a strong belief that the US just wanted to beat Russia, so they say they just acted it out, so that the US could have the acknowledgement that they always want as being labelled as "the first". I think they did land on the moon though

They say that because they are gullible morons with no sense of skepticism when it comes to believing the most outlandish conspiracy theories. Most of them probably also believe that the JFK was assassinated by the CIA, that aliens really did crash at Roswell, that the "Face on Mars" is an artificial structure being covered up by NASA, and so on and so on....
