I'm doing a presentation in college next week, and being a naturally shy person, i'm going to stammer, miss words. etc.

There's 2 ways to approach this. Either imagine you are reading out loud to yourself and ignore your audience (at least until question time) or imagine your audience is naked and they are more shy than you are. Deep breath, you are in control. Once you start on your presentation you will probably be so involved with it, you will forget they are there.

Prepare and Practice Practice! If you feel confident about the presentation then you will be less likley to worry. Also learn some breathing practices - Breath in and extend you stomach and then release - That should calm you down. Also be Mindful! Be in the moment. Don't worry too much about the day of the speech until it is present. Have good notecards and practice.

Just remember to breath, sounds silly but in hese situations it's the first thing you forget although you often don't realise it. After every sentence, pause, take a breath, take your time and continue. If nerves are a problem in life then meditation will help a lot, you'll learn to control your breathing and bring your heart rate down. I can't recommend it enough.

On the other hand before I learn't all that a good swig of vodka 20 min's before hand didn't do any harm. Just one good swig mind other wise it can do more harm than good.

1.Remember to breath, when you stammerer you kind of tend to breath in and hold your breath,so remember to take a calm long breath out when you feel you are going to stammer.
2.Remember that the"audience" wants you to do well, they are not judging you they simply want to hear what you have got to say.
3.It doesn´t matter if you miss out some worlds ore change some phrases, the main thing is that what you want to say comes across.
Good luck!

"Tension Tamer" tea helps me a lot. Remember in the big picture this little presentation is not that important. Keep asking yourself, "what is the worst thing that could happen?" The reality will surely be better than what you have imagined. Focus on how good you will feel when it is over!

Know what you going to do.
You have to tell yourself you not going to do those things because you are prepared. If you going to make a mistake, just correct it.
Remember you have to be in control. Be cool, don't let your mind wander.Don't think about about how bad you going to do but how good you will do

Just realize you're not going to die, it's just a presentation...basically, wing it and it will be over before you know it. Practice in front of the mirror and your family or friends too...I always worried myself to death and it's just not worth it. It doesn't have to be perfect, just do the best you can.

Take Quiet Life herbal tablets. Or try Bach Rescue Remedy spray.. you spray it on your tongue when you feel stressed, etc.
Or Valerina tablets. All of these can be found in Boots, Superdrug, etc.

They sell something called "Calms" in the chemist. I used them in the run up to my wedding and they were good.
