I don't believe God created the devil.
I don't believe there is a devil or a hell.
I have read that in earlier times women ruled the world and men moved heavy objects,looked after children,and satisfied women's needs.Some men who were left out decided that they would like to be part of the decision making process.In those times there was more talk of a Goddess but man reasoned that there must be a God and that at times a child would be born to humans who was difficult and troublesome,so man created the myth of a child born from the God and Goddess called satan in order to create fear in men and women in order to gain some control and a say in the decision making process.It is not hard to see how this myth has allowed man to control people and especially women to this day.If women ruled the world do you think we would have wars and the kind of greed prevalent today?
I also think that man created a God in his own image(man's) that is angry, judgemental,punishing and small minded like man in order to control the masses.All that is changing now because it is time.

God did not create the devil..it say in the bible that like god himself the angels have no beginning.
A better question would be..Why does god continue to allow the devil to live.
Thats the million dollar question! :)

There cant be good without evil, so he created satan to be good, but knew he would turn bad. This in turn creates free will. If all you have is good, then you cant make a choice.

God, all powerful and all knowing, created the angels. one of which, challenged God and wanted His power. God banished him and created Hell for this angel, Satan. now, with Satan and God influencing us everyday, God wants us to make the choice Him, or sin. that is the free will He has given us and our rewards will be based on our choices.

God created the angel that was the devil, and he did know. It is a contradiction in the bible. don't you people know that most of the bible is a big metaphor?
