does anybody here know how to mak a working compass?

a nail, a pencil and some string. tie the string to the nail, wrap other end around pencil to length needed. can make perfect circles, arcs, line intersects....... thats the easiest i know of

ummm, there is a hard way which is where u take a needle and rub the north part of the magnet on it and the south part on the opposite side and put it in a bowl of water very carefully, very hard 2 keep it above the water....another way is to do the last thing but put the needle in sumthin like a small peice of...idk...styrofoam or sumthin that will stay above the water and still b small enoughh to let it float in its own direction and voila u have a compass

take a skinny magnet and put it on a string. It will point to magnetic north.
