The US, UK, France, Russia, China, India, Pakistan, North Korea, Israel and probably many others have nuclear weapons the US and the UK have hundreds of them. I am not surprised that Iran would feel safer if they had the capability too. Bush's record in the middle East cannot make them feel anything but insecure and threatened.

BTW, not disagreeing with you but some on your list do not have nuclear weapons. Some have nuclear energy and some have neither.

The problem I have is when Bush went to India last Spring and decided to take it upon himself to announce they could begin to enrich uranium for energy purposes when they are not even a member of the NPT.... note: Iran IS a member of the NPT and he tells them NO.

Double standards...

I also agree with you on 'I am not surprised that Iran would feel safer if they had the capability too'... let me help you on the even more.

- In Dec. 2001, Bush removed the USA from the ABT, anti-ballistic missile treaty. That is long range nuclear weapons.
- Jan. 2002, in his address to the nation speech, Bush announces N.Korea, Iran and Iraq are on his axis of evil of the world.
- Fall 2002, Bush takes his case to the UN but is rejected
- Spring 2003, Bush decides to ignore the UN and invade the weakest country on his axis of evil
- Fall 2003, N.Korea watching Bush's actions, announces it will be leaving the NPT (it is required to give 3 months notice and it did)
- 2004 N.Korea, having left the NPT, announces it has restarted its nuclear weapons program for defensive purposes.
- 2005 or early 2006 Bush visits India and tells them they can enrich uranium
- 2006 Iran announces it will be conducting research and development on enriching uranium for energy purposes. It clearly states that they are a member of the NPT and in full compliance with all NPT criteria.

NOTE: Iran has NOT said it desires to make nuclear weapons but the point is that following those sequence of events, who would blame them if they did want to.

What's the matter with you? Do you think that Iran should have nuclear weapons? I don't like the idea that India, Pakistan, and North Korea has them, either, but there isn't much I can do about it, is there? So because other nuts in the world have nuclear weapons, we should let them all have them? What kind of rationality is that? Do you think Hitler should have had them because we developed them first? And when, by the way, did Bush threaten Iran over it? Just today he told whatever his name is that the U.S. would be more than happy to help Iran develop nuclear power, which IS what he's said more than once they want it for. How's that threatening? Or...is he, um, lying about it and actually wants nuclear power for weapons so he can wipe Israel off the face of the earth like he's already said he wants to do.

Bush is convinced that Iran will use their uranium enrichment facilities to make a bomb. Several in fact.

Iran, who is sitting on a shitload of oil, says they need nuclear reactors as an energy source.

This is the one thing Bush might have right in his little coked out brain. Problem is, he already told the world how bad ol'Saddamn was doing the same thing, and they believed him.

Cry wolf and the hunters come running, but only if there is a wolf. No wolf, no integrity.

So by enabling Dick Cheney to give BILLIONS to his company (sorry, ex company) Bush gave the terrorist the moral high ground, and is now unable to stop them from getting the big bomb.

Ready to impeach him yet? Vote reform!

Hate to burst your bubble there sunshine, but it isn't just the US that doesn't want Iran armed with nukes. It is the United Nations. Apparently most of the world can see what you are missing. A nuclear armed Iran would not be a good thing for anybody. Least of all the US and Israel.

The only way that the US won't invade them is if they have any actual weapons. That's why the US doesn't touch North Korea. The US only bullies countries that don't have weapons like Iraq. The Iranian president may be a mad man, but that really doesn't make him any different from the current Bush administration.

Violence begets violence. Since President Bush has taken office, America's (declared) stock of nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons have all been decreased substantially. The same is not true in Tehran. MAD was the reason for the severe build-up of arms throughout the Western world. The world was preparing to destroy itself. Nobody wants the world to prepare for such a contingency again.

Yea letting Iran, who has threatened to wipe Israel off the map, not have nuclear weapons makes him a hypocrite. I'm sorry but certain countries who would be more than happy to use these weapons on there neighbors should not be able to produce or procure weapons of this magnitude.

You not being able to see the difference is scary.

The other nations you mentioned do not daily preach their implacable hatred for all things Jewish and American, and routinely screech loudly in their public addresses for "Death to Israel" and "Death to America". For all our weapons, we detonated only two in anger, to bring an end to the war with Japan and save a million allied lives. Iran funds and supports shamelessly groups like Hezbollah which ruthlessly attack civilian Israeli targets with unguided missiles. The Jihadist fanatics that rule Iran pray for the return of the Mahdi who will conquer the world in the name of Allah and establish a world wide Islamic caliphate theocracy (which they will rule). I worry about people with this kind of mentality having a BB gun, let alone a WMD that could kill millions and set off a nuclear holocaust.

Bush or anyone can only be a hypocrite if he has also threatened to elimate our neighboring countries or any of the middle eastern countries with nukes.
