People are afraid of what/who is different then themselves and feel the need to categorize to explain the differences. Instead of just enjoying and accepting and yes it is infuriating!

Ouch...great question. In studying logic, it's called "the error of assumption." Basically there are two parts to that from a perspective standpoint. The viewer and the other person. Based of mannerisms, clothing style, or objective the person has that is visible we assume certain social-economical characteristics and persona. However, on the other person's part, if they do not want to viewed as a certain sterotype and as something else...maybe they should take outer visual persona into consideration.

Because to some degree people are taught at an early age to hide their own insecurity by believing things about people based on assumptions. Think back ,and maybe you'll see what I mean. When I was in elementary school they had this little @$$ school bus that disabled kids rode. Now days kids hopefully don't make fun of the disabled but when I was young they were outcasts and everyone assumed that they would catch something from them or they were stupid etc. People in general suck.

Maybe because people just don't want to be themselves and go with an stereotype or maybe society only showed stereotypes to that person so when that person grows, it doesn't has many options to chose from.
