If it is true, I listen and change. If it is not true, I realize the fact that this person is getting something from telling me this, so I ignore it because I realize that if I do not, it will become something I am concerned about. Meanwhile that person never things about it again. BUT PLEASE listen first, because if they are even slightly right, then fix IT because it will make a better you. EVEN IF IT HURTS, listen and be honest, is it true?

It depends on the tone of voice, the exact words, the situation, the body language of the person, and my relationship with the person being critical.

My sister can call me a b****, and it doesn't bother me in the least, unless her tone and body language tells me I've really annoyed her. Anyone else calls me that, and I'm not going to react the same way.

The phrase "You have an answer for everything, don't you?" Can either be a compliment, a criticism, or a warning that I need to shut up. Depending on all the factors I listed above, will drive how I react.

The bitter truth makes one become sweeter. However, criticism out of spite is venom. Constructive criticism on the other hand brings out the best in you.

It all depends on who's doing the criticizing.

Sometimes I just ignore it. Other times it can make me cry, but I wait til that person isn't around anymore.
