It's not just your country. Canada is becoming the same sadistice, uncaring place. It's not just Americans who are becoming more and more selfish. I think Canadians and Americans take life for granted and have entitlement issues. I'm glad you asked this question. The world is starting to scare me and North America is the best place to be. We can we run next?

No, it is not just you, our country just like every other Industrialized country is becoming that way. It's a natural part of being Human.
Living in Very large communities, isolates us from interaction with those who live around us. the problem is not as pronounced in smaller communities. but is still there.
There have been studies done on what the ideal community size is. (150 people)
But would you want to live in such a small community where everyone knows your name, what you do and who you do it with?
I think not.
Living in a city like New York or Los Angels you can move around and not have to worry that someone will recognize you or gossip about you etc. it gives you a feeling of freedom to do whatever it is you want to do without feeling guilty. NO Guilt equals selfishness. The, I have this, and now i want more attitude.
and it doesn't matter how i get it.
Also, our society has moved in a very liberal direction socially (welfare) teaching us that we are entittled to certain things. If we don't get them we feel victimized and become angry that so and so has that so i should be able to have it also.
When you get used to things being one way you don't want them to change and you become surprised when the change happens.
Don't be surprised if it gets worse as historically all Great Societies move in this direction and eventually fall, Just hope we dont fall into a dictatorship that forces us to realize that the world does not revolve around us.
Poor Curious James: You obviously do not know the difference between what Christians and Muslims believe.
as that is not what this post was about.
I suggust that you do alot of research on both religions before you spout off your obvious hipocracy and hatred of Cristianity.
or is it just religion in general you hate? either way, get informed

i dont agree with you, but i am glad that you have a differnt opinion. i think this country is awesome. yes some cities are more rude than others. but also the united states has grown and will continue to grow every year. more and more people move to this country, more cultures are mixed around, and more people are moved into cities which can not take some many people.
but you take the good in people and the bad and just learn how to eal with it. i still rather live here than anywhere else, and i have lived in other countries. i still walk in my local parks with no problem, and still most of the names of the people who work in my local supermarket, and i happen to live in miami, florida. i think it also ahs to do with what attitude you show to other people.

One of the real problems facing this country is the rise of the Evangelical fundamentalists political power. These people are so like the Islamic terrorists, and have much the same agenda as the islamo-terrorists. If you do not believe exactly ....hold on therei s a knock at my front door. Hello? The power of christ compels me to do what? WHAT? wait a minute.....Wait a minute..... Oh GOd NO.!!!!!! NO!!!!!!! You can't do that with a BIBLE! NOOOOoooooooo

Americans are selfish! We take everything for granted. If it was all taken away we would cry and beg to have it back promising to change the way we did things. As soon as we had our privelages back we would abuse them again. I mean our Prison systems are better than most oversea countries.

Absolutely! It's like we were never taught manners. And it's ALL GENERATIONS! I opened the door to a CVS drugstore and this old lady damn near walked through me with her walker when I was holding the door open for her!!!
Kids are bad as HELL, I've never wanted to punch a little kid in their face so badly in my life!
