Should I still pursue that same college or should I just go to a less prestigious college and then pursue graduate school?

NEVER give up on the college of your choice. You are absolutely doing the right hing by attending a CC. Like others have already said, you will be able to complete some of the core classes and transfer many (probably not all) of those credits to a four year college.

Also, I agree with other posters that by going to CC and doing well, you increase the chance of acceptance to your dream school by proving that you are committed to your education.

If you are a good student, try to get good enough grades to earn acceptance into Phi Theta Kappa - its the national honors society for two year colleges. This will also help you get in to your dream school.

No, you should not give up on your dream college. It is tough competition entering as a freshman. However, people do drop out and transfer to other schools, so there are spots available. An idea is to work with the transfer office to chose courses that would transfer to the college as courses towards graduation and not as electives. Work hard and get really good grades because it can help you. Good luck!

The requirements for transfer students are often much less than for applicants straight out of college. At my college, I just had to have at least 24 credit hours completed with a certain GPA to get accepted. They were also jumping up and down to have me. If you want to go to that college, it should be much easier to get in now.

You will save $$$ and get more individual attention by staying at the CC; and your credits will transfer with you to a 4 year university. The main thing is to do your best, keep up your grades, and get into graduate school. Best wishes.

Get your credits from the school you are attending now. Your counselors can help you further your education by recommending other colleges and telling you what scholarships are available

Keep trying there and also at other universities. Community college isn't so bad and it's waaaay cheaper! Don't give up though, keep trying! You'll get in somewhere.
