I just had a wheel bearing on my vehicle replaced as it was making a terrible sound (like road noise) and my mechanic thought that was also what was making a knocking sound when I turned. It hadn't made that sound since I got it fixed on Friday, but it just did when I backed out of a driveway and then turned back straight. ANY ideas as to what's making that noise??? He didn't think the CV? joint would be bad on a car with this low of miles... Thanks!

It could also be your CV joints like everyone else is saying but they could be wrong.....have your mechanic check all of this and I'm sure it will be the following.
trust me I work/restore cars in my spare time but my main occupation is construction

Don't be so sure. The CV joints and ball joints on today's vehicles are fairly soft. May also be the centering ring on the top of the strut. There is a bearing up there that dries up and makes noise like a bad ball joint. Good luck. Try to make the noise without putting the car in motion. If it pops when the car is sitting still while turning the wheel, it's not the CV joint.

A good test of the CV is backing and turning, What you describe definitly sounds like a bad CV. Take the vehicle to someone else, it does not sound like he knew what he was talking about.

well for something as simple as the joint you had replaced you wouldnt figure it would of went out but it did you should of stayed there to make sure the mechanic didnt do it himself to make money
