it can be a variety of things, like virus and spyware. Good luck, but you are hosed.

Welcome to the "wonderful" world of online computing. **note: sarcasm** Seriously though, it sounds like you have virus or malware on your computer. You can try a couple of things. First, go to one of the many online scans. I usually go to http://housecall.antivirus.com and run an online scan of your computer. Once you get that cleaned up, update your antivirus (or if you dont have one, GET ONE QUICK!!!)! Then go to http://www.download.com and download several malware tools such as Lavasoft's Ad-aware, Spybot Search and Destroy, and Microsoft's Defender.
Good luck and let us know how it turns out.

download adaware from the lavasoft website (it's free)
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/
update the definitions and run a scan on your computer
sounds like you have tons of spyware/adware on your computer.
also you can check your control panel --> add/remove programs and see if there's been some toolbars installed on your computer... from the sounds of it, there has.
good luck.
