In an unbiased view, yes it has. But now it's getting interesting, as evidence is emerging that bombs were already in the towers when the planes crashed. And why did the Americans let it happen when they already knew about it? And were the Luminati (think I spelled that right) behind it? For those who don't know, the Luminati is a group said to rule the world. They choose the Presidents and Prime Ministers, decide when wars start and end. Their symbols are on US money and in the shapes of buildings. They hide in plain sight.
And no one has the right to be so offended over such an open question. We should all question the world around us. Nothing is as we think.

Yes.
How many people died in these events?
How many people died in Darfur? In the Rwanda massacres? How many people died in the Iran Earthquake? In the Tsunami?
WHy do people not care about these and always refer to 9/11? Is it because there were few if any US citizens killed in them?
The 9/11 struck the US at the core because the US never expected something like that to happen on US soil. It happened everywhere else in the world, in Europe, in Africa, in the Middle East... The US even 'helped' some of these events around the world... For example, heard of the collections in the US to fund the IRA?
The beauty of it is that this is manipulation at its best. I am not going to get into whether the 9/11 was indeed terrorist attack by planes or something more sinister. I will just say that the reason why 9/11 still causes so much fear is that it is serving its purpose. Without this fear, how many people would support having troops dying overseas, and for what?
Saddam Hussein had absolutely nothing to do with 9/11. Yet Iraq was invaded. For Oil. For huge reconstruction contracts that the Iraqi government will pay for years to the US (and 'allies') corporations. The price to pay is the blood of soldiers used to quell any resistance.
Without this fear, how many people who support and invasion of oil-rich Iran? Or may be of water-source Syria?
Hyping of 9/11 is serving its purpose. Since I disagree with the purpose I think ithas been over-hyped. It is sad that people died, as much as the massacres in Darfur... As much as it is sad that people are dying of hunger everyday. But 9/11 stays in the media for a different reason.

Yes
Terrorist attacks have been occurring in N Ireland killing 3500 people funded by among others Noraid, a legal American charity
Strange to think of Yanks actively funding terrorism. Makes everything else a bit two faced since then.
To the following comment, all the hijackers and Osama are Saudi not Iraqi or Afghan but Bush has done a great job of muddying that pond plus some of the NI bodies have yet to be found 30 years on

No, I don't believe it is "over hyped" as you call it. Look at the History Channel, every day there is something on the Revolutionary war and Word War II, The bombing of Pearl Harbor, and the dropping of the Atom Bomb in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Every day I see or hear something of these events in History, I don't even hear or see something on TV everyday about 9/11, an event that will remain in History along with these other tragic events. Those other events were over 50 years ago. Five years is nothing. I wasn't alive for those events that took place but I cry when watching movies that bring these events to life. on September 11 I saw live footage of people scared to death jumping from a 20 story building to avoid being buried or burned to death, and that was forever scarred in my memory. Would you still miss your mom in five years, or your dad or any other close loved one. How about if you were a son or daughter too young to take care of yourself and only one parent was left to raise you along with your other siblings? Those people along with the whole human race will be feeling the repercussions of that terrible day for the rest of their lives, a lot are still mourning and they have every right to.

It's a way of spreading fear. A type of control. I don't believe they needed to make a movie with Nicolas Cage. I still believe the flight going toward the white house was shot down from our air force stealth planes.. It's not over-hyped - a lot of people died there. 5 days before I finished putting computers in on Market Street (within a block of the WTC..) It was really scary to know I had walked passed those buildings not even 5 days before planes were sent through the towers.

Yes it is much over hyped by people with vested interests in invading other countries. Did you know that 44% of Americans think that Iraq was responsible for 11/9?

Yes in the way that it has allowed the US government to take away personal rights and privacy in their pursuit of "liberty"
no in the way that it was a terribble act
no in the way of how the public will react if they ever found out the truth behind 9/11 (The government was involved)

The 5-year anniversary has been over-hyped. It's totally being used as a political tool and media money-maker, instead of just remembrance of a tragedy. It dishonors the people who died to use 9/11 as such a huge propaganda tool.

yes and no considering we have had terrorism in the UK for decades from the IRA and muslims we don't go on about it like the yanks do but what happened was devastating and to say over hyped I'm not sure if that's the right word to use but they will go on about it for the next few hundred years cos the yanks do tend to be a bunch of drama queens
