I currently have 78mm's on my skates, but should I go lower than that?

I would me more concerned with the ABEC in the bearings not the size. I always used anywhere from an ABEC 3 to an ABEC 5 and I found they were easier. Less stress on the knees to push off. I believe I always played in 78mm's and I never had a problem with them.

You should have a certain type of wheel on your skates. Usually it will tell you what size on the outside of your skate somewhere. You should never-ever put on the wrong wheel size on your skates.

Besides what the other 2 told you, make sure you get the right wheel for the proper surface. Softer for indoors, and a little harder wheel for on the street. Ask your local sports store.
