Even if you manage to somehow break it in a way that doesn't void the warranty you'll just get a new shuffle that is EXACTLY the same. They won't give you a nano, or an iPod video. You should have thought about the crappiness of the shuffle before buying it. Try to sell it on eBay.

any visable damage to your ipod will void your manufactures warranty and will get u nowhere with the retailer unless u took any exteneded warranty which covers accidental damage even then they will likely only replace the it with the same unit. likleyhood is if u take it back to where u bought it then they will send it to apple to repair.

My partner, frustrated with the general crapiness of her new ipod and it's accompanying software, threw it against the wall in sheer frustrated temper (bear in mind that it wasn't working properly anyway though). It stopped functioning completely after that. She got a full refund, with no questions asked.

Why do you want to claim on the warranty? If it's working, why break it? Do you hate Apple or something?

I wouldn't ask that question on a message board like this where Apple just has to look you up to void that warranty.

you could maybe "accidentally" a virus, i don't know

or maybe you could find some way to hack itunes to upload a song with a virus attached to it so it disables your ipod and possibly other people's- then you can sue

but good for you, now, once you get rid of your ipod, never go back

Drop it in a puddle? Seriously, I don't agree with your decision though.
