If Bush stuck around for an additional 5-6 years the U.S. would probably be exactly in the same condition as Cuba.........

Why on earth would it want to? Under Castro, Cuba has gone from being the richest Latin American state to the poorest. There is no personal freedom: if you criticize Castro, you go to jail -- or worse. Do you suppose that the thousands of people who try to get from Cuba to the US each year are all idiots?

Well, because I don't want to live in poverty conditions circa 1954. I don't want to work myself silly (though I would like to literally work my *** off) and still get paid less than $5 a month and have pretty much nothing of any good available to buy with the money. I want to be able to say what I think and allow even those I disagree with to speak their minds and not be arrested, tortured, and put in prison indefinitely. As bad as things are outside of prison, they're much worse inside. I don't want inferior medical care or the government taking "care" of me as if I were incapable of doing it myself. I want my hard work and education to mean something.

OK, so you ask a question that really makes no since. More like Cuba in what way? I hate to answer a question with question but sometimes people ask stupid questions!

Oh, yeah, there's a country that has contributed much to the world.

Let's see... imprisonment and execution of political enemies, elimination of elections... Just go live there. I don't think there's a waiting list to get in, only to get out.

That would solve the immigration problem because everyone would be trying to get out of the country!

Because we would kill any militant communist that tried to take over the US.

Do you mean starving, driving around in decrepit old Chevies, meeting in secret & making rafts out of inner tubes to escape?

No thanks.
