I was Interested to know if you can become a police officer if you have misdormeaners on your record? I f so, are there only certain offenses that are allowed or are they all acceptable/unacceptable?

It all depends on the city, state etc. Although common sense would dictate that criminals would not be allowed to be police officers some areas need officers so bad they are willing to let certain offenses slide. It will depend on what you misdemeanor was for.

Depends partly on when you got them I believe. If you were charged as a juvenile, then it wouldn't stop you. I believe as long as the event was small enough even if you were an adult it wouldn't matter. But without giving us a specific charge you were convicted for, I can't tell you for sure.
However, if you want to become a police officer then you must be a minion of the devil. Pray to him, he has all the senators and other politicians in his back pocket anyway, maybe Satan can put in a good word for you with your congressman.

I'm pretty sure you have to have a clear criminal record. There might be some leway, if the misdemenor was a non violent offense, or depending on what kind of offense it was. You should be able to look at your local police departments website to see what their restrictions and qualifcations are.

It depends on the State and County or City involved. In New Orleans, for example, having a record was almost a requirement.
