How might a fever of 104 degrees F be detrimental to your welfare??

Well you obviously have a infection and you might die if you don't treat it. or bring the temp down!

I am not a Dr. so take this as it is. The fever itself is not the problem. Your body is trying to rid itself of something that shouldn't be there. So it responds by sterilizing your system. 104 is not so outrageous, provided it doesn't persist over a couple of days. More than three days or so will probably need antibiotics or something to help it out. Abnormally high fevers can cause brain damage and other problems with the neuro system. Hope this helps.
